The sun rises in the east, so it is the direction of beginnings, youth and awakening. It is a spiritually focused direction associated with determination, illumination, enlightenment, innocence and imagination. The direction plays a powerful force on your life goals, emotions and journeys and brings us the lesson of responsible relationships; often giving you the magic of higher vision and prophecy.

The Element of life

Air gives us the breath of life! It is the most important element necessary for life and the first thing we take in when we are born. The air in our breath grounds us and gives us focus and helps all things continue to grow.

\\ Eagle \\

The totem of sacred and powerful connection

The Eagle is a healing spirit. It is said that this bird spends its life flying high, both above and below the earth and so has a strong connection between heaven and earth. Because of this, it is known to be one of the most sacred and powerful totems.

The eagle has the obligation and a responsibility to integrate your mind, body and spirit and in times of change, rebirth, or renewal, the eagle helps guide us.

“As the day begins with the rising sun, I ask, Spirit keeper of the East, Brother Eagle, Be with me. Fly high as you carry my prayers to the Creator. May I have eyes as sharp as yours, so I am able to see truth and hope on the path I have chosen. Guide my step and give me courage to walk the circle of my life with honesty and dignity.”

– Lakota Four Directions Prayer.
